Dan Henrickson / Systems Administrator
Dan first encountered a computer in high school when he passed the open door to the classroom where the school's sole system was. The students were trying to reproduce a photographic image with a line printer by making multiple passes over each line with various characters, in an attempt to match the range of highlights and shadows. As an avid photographer at the time, Dan wasn't impressed.
Photography led Dan to printing, including a significant experience collaborating with experienced tradesmen to produce a book showcasing a world-reknowned photographer's iconic images of American landscapes. Printing introduced Dan to the first microprocessor-based phototypesetters, which sparked his interest in early personal computers.
Since then, Dan has worked in many aspects of technology, including software development, user support, and servers and networking technology.
Dan has lived in Culver City for most of his life, save a few years in Chicago. While away from work, he enjoys spending time with his two adult daughters. He took up running several years ago, and has completed nine marathons, including Chicago in October 2015, Los Angeles in February 2016, and San Diego in June.
